Wat Bentyamabophit, one of Bangkok's youngest royal monasteries, was established in the early twentieth century. The complex gets its second name, Marble Temple, because its walls are covered with grey Carrara marble. In its Italian architect Hercules Manfredi was involved in its design.

The temple is adorned with amazing stained glass windows, designed in Victorian style and depicting scenes from Thai mythology. The building, where King Rama V lived during his temporary monasticism. where King Rama V lived during his temporary monasticism, there are murals depicting the events of his reign. One of the halls houses the ashes of Rama V himself.

In the courtyard of the vat, bronze Buddha statues are on display, including the famous Walking Buddha.
