In 1920, the wealthy Romanian architect George Sebastian came to Hammamet. He built an unusual villa here. It is decorated with cypress trees, the swimming pool is surrounded by columns, and the bedrooms have antique mirrors and Roman baths. Many celebrities have visited: André Gide and Maupassant, Flaubert and Georges Bernanos, Churchill and King George VI of England.

In the garden there is an amphitheatre where the International Arts Festival is held every year.
