The medina was built in the early tenth century. It is a small quadrangular structure (300 by 100 metres) with a Grand Mosque and a marketplace, which can be entered through one of four gates.
The medina is very small, so you can wander its narrow streets without fear. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants.
