On the outskirts of the resort of Hammamet, near the village of Bouficha, is the Frigia Zoo, which consists of a dolphinarium and the zoo itself. The dolphinarium on the territory of the zoo appeared 10 years after the opening of the whole complex "Frigia".
Performances of dolphins and local stars - amusing sea lions take place in the morning and evening. A zoo admission ticket allows you to visit the animal show in the dolphinarium free of charge. There are two sea lion shows daily - morning and evening.
Simultaneously with the evening event at the dolphinarium, the zoo hosts another show, which is staged in a pavilion styled as a Zulu hut. This is a restaurant with a capacity of 450 people. The show, for which you have to buy an extra ticket, is called "Zulu Night". It is a performance of animators portraying representatives of an African tribe. The actors perform Zulu dances, sing and play African instruments.
In the oldest part of the zoo there are large enclosures with animals, mostly inhabiting the Black Continent. The predators can be watched from the bridges above the enclosures. There are majestic lions, fast cheetahs, cunning crocodiles and other inhabitants of savannahs, reservoirs and deserts. There are also animals brought from neighbouring continents. There are always many people above the place where the most beautiful white tigers are kept.
Herbivorous representatives of fauna are kept in more accessible enclosures, which can be approached closely. Some antelopes, giraffes, zebras are allowed to feed.
