The Museum of Silk Weaving (Dar al-Himma) is located in the former Sfar Mosque. The museum's exhibition tells the story of how Libyan Jews opened several silk weaving workshops in Mahdia in the 19th century and how, during the first half of the 20th century, local craftsmen became competitors of the "silk maestros" from Lyon. Looms, clothing, fabrics and silk ribbons - competitors of Lyon silk - are on display here.
