Çubuk is a city and district of Ankara Province, located on the Central Anatolian plateau of Turkey, at an altitude of 891 metres, at the confluence of the Ciubuk River and Ankara (Sakarya River basin).

The area is a flat plain 38 kilometres north of the Ankara city, towards Ankara airport. According to the 2000 census, The population of the area is 81747, of which 76716 live in the Ciubuk city. The district covers an area of 1,362 kilometres square (526 square miles), and has an average elevation of 1,100 metres (3,609 feet). The area was inhabited by the Seljuk Turks as early as the 14th century.

On 3 November 1936, a ceremony was held to inaugurate the Çubuk Reservoir in Ankara. Today, the fields lying around the reservoir are irrigated by its waters and are are famous for their pickled cucumbers and cherries.

In spring and autumn this place becomes a strategic resting point for many flocks of migratory birds.
