Its borders encompass diverse geographies, including the Black Sea to the north, Georgia to the northeast, and Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Iran to the east. To the southeast lies Iraq, while the south is bordered by Syria and the Mediterranean Sea. To the west, Turkey is flanked by the Aegean Sea, with Greece and Bulgaria lying to the northwest. Off its southern coast sits the island of Cyprus.
