The museum is located in an ancient fort, which until 1970 remained the residence of the ruler of the principality. The exposition of the museum includes archaeological and ethnographic sections, a collection of ancient weapons, halls dedicated to the history of the Emirates police. The reconstruction of past life and traditional crafts with the use of "wax" figures may be of special interest to visitors. The exposition recreates the atmosphere of bygone years and the former way of life.
The exposition of the museum contains objects whose age exceeds 4000 years. During the excavations, numerous burials, necklaces, pottery and other belongings of the inhabitants of the fishing village were discovered.
