At 150 km from the capital within the Emirate of Abu Dhabi is the oasis of Al Ain, which is interesting for tourists with an ancient fort, a picturesque camel market and the Archaeological Park with burial grounds that are more than six thousand years old.
A large number of visitors are attracted by the Hili Amusement Park and the nearby skating and hockey rink. Al Ain has a large zoo with the country's only oceanarium, which houses rare species of marine life.
A few minutes' drive from Al Ain is Mount Hafit, the highest point in the UAE, which offers majestic views of the surrounding area. The mountain is accessed via a modern serpentine road.
