The museum of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes is located, as it is easy to guess, at 221-b, Baker Street. The number 221-b was assigned to the house by a special resolution of the city authorities - in fact, this house is located between 237 and 241 Baker Street. At the time described by Arthur Conan Doyle in his stories, this address did not exist in London at all. Later there was a bank at this address, and a special clerk had to be employed to deal with letters addressed to "Sherlock Holmes, Esquire".

The four-storey house that houses the museum is a typical house with furnished rooms in Georgian style. The ground floor is now a gift shop, while the ground floor is the famous Holmes and Watson drawing room. Visitors to the museum can sit in their armchairs and have their picture taken in front of the fireplace. The rooms are furnished in careful accordance with the description given in the books about Holmes: there is a Turkish shoe with tobacco, Holmes' desk with chemical reagents, and his violin. On the upper floor one can see wax figures depicting the heroes of Arthur Conan Doyle's stories.

Among the photos of actors who at different times played the famous detective, a photo of Vasily Livanov takes an honourable place. The image created by him on the screen is considered canonical.
