The National Museum of the city is somewhat more attractive and presents a collection of archaeological and anthropological relics. The main exhibit is a replica of a Neanderthal skull, estimated to be over 100,000 years old. There are also examples of Tonga ritual arts and crafts, a model of an African village, a collection of belongings of the famous traveller and explorer of Africa David Livingstone and a display of African maps dating back to 1690. There is also a rather macabre collection of witchcraft paraphernalia.
