Troy (Hittite: ????????????????????????, romanized: Truwiša/Taruiša; Ancient Greek: Τροία, romanized: Troíā; Latin: Troia) or Ilion (Hittite: ????????????????, romanized: Wiluša; Ancient Greek: Ἴλιον, romanized: Ī́lion) was an ancient city located in present-day Hisarlik, Turkey. It is best known as the setting for the Greek myth of the Trojan War. The archaeological site is open to the public as a tourist destination, and was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1998.

Troy in the Late Bronze Age was a thriving coastal city consisting of a steep fortified citadel and a sprawling lower town below it.
