The French Quarter, also known as the Vieux Carré (UK: /ˌvjɜː kəˈreɪ/; US: /vjə kəˈreɪ/; French: ), is the oldest neighborhood in the city of New Orleans. Jackson Square, formerly the Place d'Armes (French) or Plaza de Armas (Spanish), is a historic park in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana.
