Räpina Paper Mill is one of the oldest operating paper mills in Europe. The Räpina Paper Mill has been in operation since 1734. Even then, its work was based on the technology of using secondary raw materials, such as linen rags. Under the guidance of German and Swedish masters, the factory produced a wide range of paper and cardboard for various purposes.

In the beginning, all production took place by hand. However, already at the beginning of the 19th century, devices (hollanders) were installed at the mill to pulverise rags. The paper mill turned into a factory in 1865, when the first self-drawing paper machine was brought from Germany. Soon there were 4 such machines, one of which is still in operation today in a rebuilt form.In 1970 the mill was rebuilt and modernised, new production buildings were built, as well as residential buildings.

The aim of the factory is to combine friendly (towards nature) and modern production with the three hundred years of experience of the company. Only recycled raw materials are used in production - waste paper collected in Estonia. Today the factory produces paper and cardboard for various purposes, as well as stationery (notebooks, document folders), art products (watercolour paper, drawing paper). The development of the factory's production process is aimed at a more environmentally friendly and gentle attitude.

Today, the factory hosts tour groups. During the tour, which lasts about 1 hour, you will be able to get acquainted with the history of the Ryapinskaya paper mill, as well as with the entire paper production process. In addition, you will be able to see the products being produced and, of course, buy them if necessary.
