Estonia shares its maritime boundaries to the north with the Gulf of Finland across from Finland. To the west, it is embraced by the sea across from Sweden. To the south Estonia finds its neighbor in Latvia, while to the east it is framed by the Lake Peipus and the expanse of Russia.
