The construction of the church of St Francis of Assisi and the adjacent Franciscan monastery building was begun in 1351 and completed in the early 15th century. Materials from the old monastery were used to build the church. The round carved window of the façade, which was closed in 1600, has recently seen the light of day again. Master craftsmen from San Marino and Como were involved in the construction of the church and the adjoining fraternity block. The museum-pinacoteca has a rich collection of paintings by artists of various Italian schools from the 16th to 17th centuries.
