Mount Olympus (/oʊˈlɪmpəs, əˈlɪm-/, Greek: Όλυμπος, romanized: Ólympos, IPA: ) is an extensive massif near the Thermaic Gulf of the Aegean Sea, located on the border between Thessaly and Macedonia, between the regional units of Larissa and Pieria, about 80 km (50 mi) southwest from Thessaloniki. Mount Olympus has 52 peaks and deep gorges. The highest peak, Mytikas (Μύτικας Mýtikas), meaning "nose", rises to 2,917 metres (9,572 ft) and is the highest peak in Greece, and one of the highest peaks in Europe in terms of topographic prominence.

Folklore Museum of Katerini

The Folklore Museum of Katerini was set up by the Pieria Pontic Association, and is housed in a building owned by the Association in the centre of Katerini, Macedonia, Greece, near the Municipal Park. It opened in 1990, following efforts to collect folklore material still in the possession of refugee families from the Pontos who had settled in the Pieria region. The campaign had been carried out by a three-member committee under the supervision of Professors Dimitrios Pandermalis and Nora Skouteri.

The beaches of Kallithea, Korinos, Olympiaki Akti (or Katerinoskala), Paralia where is located the 3rd Port Authority Department of Skala Katerini, Peristasi are visited by both Greek and foreign tourists during the summer season. The base of Mount Olympus and the town of Litochoro, are at a distance of around 20 km from the center of Katerini, whereas there is the ski center of Elatochori in Mount Pieria at a distance of 33.4 km from the city's center.
