Norway

Norway, officially the Kingdom of Norway, stands as a Nordic country in Northern Europe, positioned on the Scandinavian Peninsula. In addition to its mainland, Norway encompasses the remote Arctic island of Jan Mayen and the archipelago of Svalbard. Embracing the Subantarctic region, Bouvet Island stands as a dependent territory. Norway also lays claim to the Antarctic territories of Peter I Island and Queen Maud Land.

Covering a vast expanse of 385,207 square kilometers (148,729 square miles), Norway shares a lengthy eastern border with Sweden and is flanked by Finland and Russia to the northeast, with the Skagerrak strait marking its southern boundary. The country boasts an extensive coastline that opens up to the North Atlantic Ocean and the Barents Sea.

Fjellheisen cable car
